WEATHER

Riptide Music Festival will take place rain or shine. Please plan your attire & arrangements accordingly for a festival on the sand. If there are severe weather circumstances, we may postpone, evacuate, or cancel the event.

SECURITY & ENTRY

By purchasing a ticket to Riptide, you agree to submit to a thorough search, including emptying your pockets and bags, having all of your items examined, and a full pat-down. A search will be done at the entrance gate prior to entry. There is no re-entry once admitted to the festival. We reserve the right to refuse entry to anyone.

You can help keep the lines moving quickly by leaving large bags and prohibited items at home. Any prohibited item that is confiscated will not be held or returned.

WE ♥ FORT LAUDERDALE BEACH

Please respect our city & respect Fort Lauderdale Beach. Please pick up any trash you come across and limit any plastic you bring to the beach. Be smart, be aware of your surroundings, and please remember to drink responsibly.

We have a zero-tolerance policy for drug use and possession. Police officers will be working inside and outside of the festival, and all narcotics laws will be strictly enforced. Be responsible and make smart Riptide choices!

  • Low-rise beach chairs (must be set up in the designated chair zone)
  • Prescription medicine (in a marked bottle with proper matching ID)
  • Non-professional & personal cameras (NO professional cameras or recording devices)
  • GoPros
  • One (1) sealed water bottle up to 2 liters in size
  • Small backpacks & purses (maximum 12″x12″)
  • Camelbacks, but they must be empty
  • Cell phones and portable chargers/external batteries
  • Sealed sunscreen lotion (inspected upon entry)

PROHIBITED ITEMS

  • NO alcohol
  • NO noise makers, horns, whistles, musical instruments, or boom boxes
  • NO plastic sipper bottles, glass bottles or glass containers
  • NO potential projectiles, frisbees, footballs, etc.
  • NO camcorders, professional cameras, or recording devices
  • NO tripods, cameras with detachable lenses, or other commercial uses
  • NO cans, coolers of any size, ice chests, picnic baskets, thermoses
  • NO wallets with chains
  • NO inflatables
  • NO umbrellas
  • NO tents or large chairs
  • NO weapons of any kind
  • NO baby strollers or small wagons for toddlers
  • NO fireworks or explosives
  • NO illegal drugs or illicit substances of any kind
  • NO outside food & drink
  • NO animals (with the exception of pre-approved service animals)
  • NO skateboards, bicycles, motorized vehicles or scooters
  • NO selfie sticks of any kind
  • NO drones (with or without cameras) or any unmanned flying vehicle

  • NO paint, sharpies or permanent markers
  • NO items to obstruct other fan’s views (kites, flag poles, large signs, etc)

We welcome everyone to Riptide Music Festival! We strive to make our beach environment accessible to our guests with disabilities & all music lovers. Riptide will feature accessible restrooms and other amenities, as well as designated areas for wheelchair users and their companions. Please stop by our Customer Service Tent during the festival if you have any questions or need assistance.

Q: What time does Riptide start & end each day?
A: Friday, Saturday & Sunday will all be full days of music! Nov. 30, 2018 – Gates open at 4pm. Gates close at 10pm. Dec. 1, 2018 – Gates open at 10am. Gates close at 10pm. Dec. 2, 2018 – Gates open at 12pm. Gates close at 9pm. Times are subject to change.

Q: Will set times get posted in advance?
A: Yes, set times will be released in advance. Note: The lineup is subject to change.

Q: Can I see a festival map ahead of time?
A: Yes. An updated map showing our stage location, food, bathrooms, etc. will be available before the festival on Riptidefest.com and on our radio station websites.

Q: Where is the closest airport?
A: The nearest airport is Ft. Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport (FLL), 320 Terminal Drive, Fort Lauderdale, FL 33315.

Q: Is re-entry allowed?
A: No, there is no re-entry once admitted into the festival.

Q: What is the camera policy?
A: Professional photographers must obtain a photo pass using our media submission form. Professional video cameras are not permitted.

Q: Is there access to the ocean?
A: No, Riptide Music Festival attendees will not be allowed to enter the ocean while inside our festival grounds.

Q: Is the Riptide Music Festival area handicap accessible?
A: Yes, there is an accessible viewing area and handicap bathrooms.

Q: Can I volunteer to work Riptide?
A: We do not accept volunteers. However, you can apply to work this year’s Riptide Music Festival, as a paid Part-Time Promotions Assistant for our radio stations here.

Q: Will there be ATM machines?
A: Yes, ATMs will be available inside the Riptide Music Festival grounds. Locations will be marked on the festival map.

Q: Do you have Hotel suggestions?
A: Yes, check out our partner hotels for special Riptide room rates online & book your rooms now!

Q: Will any roads be closed?
A: Nope, no roads will be closed.

Q: Will there be food and drink available for purchase?
A: Yes! There will be plenty of food and drink options in our #BiteMe Food Court. We will also have vegetarian and vegan options available.

Q: Are kids allowed?
A: Absolutely! The Riptide Music Festival is All Ages. Plus, all kids 2 and under get in for FREE! Any child over the age of 2 will require a regular purchased ticket.

Q: Is there seating at the festival?
A: There are no seats at the festival, but you are allowed to bring your own beach blankets, towels and low-rise beach chairs. There is a designated Chair Zone where you will be allowed to set up your chairs for the day.

Q: Will There be Meet & Greet Opportunities with the Riptide Bands?
A: Yes! As we get closer to Riptide 2018, visit our radio station’s websites for details on how you can win a chance to meet the Riptide bands, 104.3TheShark.com, LiteMiami.com, TheBeachMiami.comTheTicketMiami.com, Power96.com, and WQAM.com.

Q: What’s the bad weather policy?
A: Riptide Music Festival will go on rain or shine! However, if there are severe weather circumstances, we may postpone, evacuate, or cancel the event.

Q: Can I park my boat in the ocean or anchor off-shore?
A: There will be NO boat anchoring offshore of the Riptide Music Festival. There are protected coral reefs. Please if you are coming by boat, reach out to the local marinas for assistance with docking. The offshore area will be heavily patrolled to prevent boats from anchoring.
